Thank You! We are so grateful for all of the support we have received for our project. We have raised 48% of the $15,000 HornRaiser goal! The money we raise through HornRaiser will be crucial to meet our total needed budget of $25,000. We have been hard at work making progress in designs and project logistics. Our NGO contact, Khem, recently visited Don Kang and provided a lot of information that has helped us proceed with our designs and plans for the project! The Community The community leaders have confirmed their interest in our project and welcomed us by granting us permission to work in Don Kang. We are planning activities to do with the people of Don Kang to make connections and encourage community involvement. The Project Fundraising for the project has taken off with the HornRaiser launch, thanks to everyone who has supported our mission! We are working on grant proposals and reaching out to potential corporate sponsors for additional financial support. Khem's scouting visit has provided more information with testing and analysis of the water source, as well as by visiting with Don Kang's residents. This information will go a long way in helping us design a sustainable system while also creating a bridge with the community. The water source (a nearby well) has proven to be feasible to use for Don Kang's needs. The well depth and quality test results answered many of our concerns about the well feasibility. The Team Team bonding with team meetings and hangouts since the beginning of the semester has created a unique collaborative environment for our project. Everyone has been working hard to make sure the project is a successand while we may face challenges ahead, we are confident our team can work together to overcome the obstacles ahead! A new student recently joined the team! Savannah Shifflet is a Sophomore majoring in Social Work and we are excited for her to join us and for the addition of her fresh perspective to a team of engineers. We only have 16 days left to raise the remaining $7,749! So please share our project through Facebook, our Website or HornRaiser. We want all our friends and family to know about the incredibly rewarding work we are doing. Not only are we getting real international project experience, but we also get to contribute to a cause much bigger than ourselves. This experience has and continues to teach us the importance of human compassion and interconnection, and we are excited to see what we will learn from the people of Don Kang!
